Captain John's floating restaurant makes its last voyage.

Captain John's restaurant (MS Jadran) at Lock 7 of the Welland Ship Canal in Thorold on May 28th, 2015, ~10:30pm.

From here it will only be a couple of more hours till it reaches the scrapyards in Port Colborne.

Togetherness: A pair of Canvasback Ducks enjoy some quiet time.

Saw this coyote crossing a field yesterday near Niagara Falls.

The coyote tries to assess the danger of me standing there.  He was not taking any chances and trotted away shortly after I took the picture.  March 10, 2015 @ 6:22 pm  Cloudy, low light.

The Moon and Venus tonight shared the sky.

We were at the Pendale Plaza tonight and got this shot of the Moon and Venus. The "M" is for Mars which would be in the picture be it not for the fact I took this picture with my cellphone... (or else Mars is hiding behind it's namesake letter) At least the skies stayed clear after sunset.  Hope you got to see them sharing the sky tonight!

Had a visitor keeping an eye on the birds visiting my bird feeders.

Also known as a 'Sparrow Hawk' , it is quite the colourfully appointed hawk.

Red-bellied Woodpecker, new visitor to the feeder.

A nice looking woodpecker - first one I've seen around here in Niagara.  Most welcome to become a regular visitor to the feeder.

The 'Artful' Female Mallard Duck

Shooting duck pictures at Happy Rolph's (as all other creatures were absent this day).

Tried for a more artful approach capturing the movement of rings in the water.

A real goatee

Shells on the beach

Waverly Beach in Fort Erie has large masses of these little shells washed up on the sands of the beach.  A lot of geometric designs and colours.  It was a 'crunchy' walk.
